Leaf colour

Colour group:

Red variegated

Upper surface:

Leaves vary from pale creamy-pink to dark pinkish-red with greyish-green stripes mainly towards the outer edges. Margins are orange and the midrib is often pale.

Lower surface:

Colours are generally darker and the midrib is orange.

Comments:

Quite similar to other red variegated types. We have examples from two different sources and one of these is much more pink than the other. Leaves occasionally revert to plain brown colour.

Published descriptions

SMG

 An arching plant to 3 feet tall with 1 1/2" wide leaves in shades of orange, rose, light green and yellow. Similar if not identical to `Maori Sunrise' Tends to revert.

HER

 A colorfully striped flax with striations of pink, coral, apricot and green on rather compact leaves to 3', ideally suited for container use, but excellent in the border.
