On this page we have listed the names of all the Phormium cultivars that we have seen mentioned in literature, listed in sales catalogues, seen as plants, found on the Internet, or referred to in any other way.

In the list of cultivars each name may be followed by various codes as described below:

‘Name’ (t) or (c) A-P (Y)

‘Name’- The cultivar name.

(t) or (c) - Phormium cultivars are derived from P. tenax, P. cookianum or from hybrids between the two species. Where a cultivar been attributed to one or other species we have used (t) = tenax, (c) = cookianum.

A-P - Letters A to P indicate our sources of information as listed on the Cultivars page.

(Y) - Indicates that we have a plant with that name in our own collection.
