phormiums.

RHS Spring Gardening Show - Malvern Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire Jointly organised by the Royal Horticultural Society and the Three Counties Agricultural Society, this is the first major gardening show of the season. This year the show has been extended to four days rather than three days as in previous years. We will be exhibiting sempervivums and phormiums in the RHS Malvern Floral Marquee on Stand 39. Report: Generally very fine weather for the show although there was a period of very heavy rain on Saturday afternoon that caused some flooding in the Floral Marquee. For the first time we had an island display featuring both phormiums and sempervivums. The plants were all in good condition and we were awarded a RHS Silver Gilt Medal. The only criticism by the judges was that our stand should have been larger to display the phormiums effectively. We think that this was a fair comment as the plants were rather large for the space available.

Chelsea Flower Show Chelsea This will be our second time at Chelsea. We will be showing Sempervivum, Jovibarba and Rosularia (not Phormium) on an island display in the Great Pavilion on Stand C20. Report: Another very successful show despite the relatively poor weather for May. We were delighted that were were again awarded a RHS Gold Medal for our display.

BBC Gardeners' World Live National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham We will be exhibiting Sempervivum, Jovibarba and Rosularia (not Phormium) in the Floral Marquee, Hall 16, Stand 31. Report: A successful show with good weather and many excellent floral displays and show gardens. The NEC show has a different character to other RHS shows. The site is more 'industrial' with few areas of grass and no established gardens and there is a strong emphasis on selling BBC Gardener's World magazines! Some of the show gardens tend to be more like a 'set design' for a theatre rather than a 'garden design' although there are some great ideas presented. We were again very pleased to be awarded a RHS Gold Medal for our exhibit.

Hampton Court Palace Flower
Show
Hampton Court Palace, London Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is one of the largest and best horticultural shows in the world. There is a huge variety of displays and an enormous range of plants and garden equipment for sale. We will be exhibiting Sempervivum, Jovibarba, Rosularia (not Phormium) in Floral Marquee 4 on Stand 15. Report: After the problems of the last two years, (severe weather in 2004, and London bombs in 2005) the show passed off without any major incidents. The weather was good although very hot at times and there was a wonderful selection of plants and other products on display. We were slightly disappointed that our exhibit was only given a RHS Silver Gilt Medal as it was the first time our Sempervivum display was not awarded Gold. We felt that it was as good as previous ones and at this time of year there were a number of plants in flower. We were told that some of the judges did not like to see sempervivums in flower (and others thought there were not enough flowers!) This was the main reason that we did not get a Gold Medal.

The RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park Tatton Park, Manchester We will be exhibiting Sempervivum, Jovibarba and Rosularia (not Phormium) in the RHS Floral Marquee on Stand 13. Report: Very hot weather - lots of ice cream and cold drinks consumed! We made sure this time that we did not have many plants in flower on our display. The judges liked it much better and we were awarded a RHS Gold Medal. In fact, we were one of four displays considered for the award of 'Best in Show' in the floral marquee. The award actually went to a stunning display of Disa orchids.
